Part-time Enrollment

In some cases, RPI students may be able to receive their institutional scholarships and/or grants while enrolling part-time. This is typically reserved for students who need fewer than 12 credits to complete their degree in their final term of enrollment or students who are attempting to make additional degree progress by enrolling over a summer term. The Office of Financial Aid will review all requests for part-time aid and determine eligibility accordingly. The Office of Financial Aid also reserves the right to deny a request for part-time institutional aid.

Federal and NY State awards are adjusted based on applicable program rules and regulations. Federal Pell Grants are also reduced proportionately based on the students actual number of credits: in most cases students below Half-Time (6 credits) are not eligible. New York State TAP Grants are not available to students enrolled below Full Time (12+ credits).   Federal Direct Loan Program funds are not available to students enrolled below Half-Time.
